Lendio’s legal team is responsible for all things “legal” at Lendio. This includes supporting the business by identifying and highlighting any legal risk, interpreting laws and regulations, providing analysis and recommendations to senior management and other departments, drafting contracts, support for licensing, and any other legal work that comes our way.
Our team is seeking a talented attorney to focus on drafting, revising, negotiating, and managing various contracts at Lendio. You will also provide support and guidance on privacy related matters in addition to other areas of law. You will work with other departments and key stakeholders as we develop new products, bring on new and manage existing vendors and partners, and help maintain Lendio’s agreements. We are looking for someone that is highly motivated, organized, has great attention to detail, and is able to work in fast-paced in-house environment.
The Commercial Counsel role will play a critical role in navigating the complex regulatory landscape Lendio faces. You will be responsible for advising Lendio on various items related to a wide range of commercial agreements. You will report to the General Counsel and work with a variety of departments and executives.
What you will own:
Draft, review, revise, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements with a strong focus on marketing, licensing, SaaS, and professional services agreements.
Help improve current agreement management processes and procedures.
Identify and assess legal risks associated with commercial agreements and provide actionable advice to mitigate those risks.
Provide timely and practical guidance on risk management, internal policy compliance and contractual obligations.
Develop strong, collaborative relationships cross-functionally and within the legal team, including with strategic partners to ensure alignment and compliance with company objectives, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
What you will need to be successful:
J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school with membership in good standing in Utah.
2-4 years of experience in commercial transactions, ideally with a focus on the technology industry.
Solid understanding of US data privacy laws and software licensing.
Ability to balance legal and business risk
Outstanding communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and working collaboratively with various teams in a matrixed organization
Strong relationship-building skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail. Good sense of humor & team player.
