Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated student for an internship (M1/M2) to work on a project to move several atoms simultaneously using multi-tweezer techniques.

It is an innovative technology, and the intern will have the opportunity to participate in this development and collaborate with the other members of the team.
The project consists in 2 parts organized in two levels – hardware and software -, which can be modulated depending on the length of the internship:

• Design and assemble of an optical test bench (lasers, optics, cameras) to characterize hardware performance
• Benchmark algorithms to simultaneously displace the atoms.

Main responsibilities:

• Design the test setup with the help of team members and document it.
• Assemble the setup under supervision.
• Adjust the setup to acquire signal and interface it with the control software.
• Design the benchmark procedure and document it.
• Implement a new algorithm for rearrangement and test it on the test bench.

About you

Hard skills:

• Bachelor-level knowledge in experimental physics (Light-Matter interactions or optics)
• Laser and optics skills
• Strong interest for experimental physics and mathematical/physics models.
• Basic programming skills in Python for data analysis.
• Experience working in lab environment

Soft skills:

• Autonomy and organization.
• Communication and listening skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (Theory, Experimental).
• Good level of written and spoken English.
