About the opportunity

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll play a key role in providing strategic analysis and insights to drive major business decisions and improve Sydecar's financial performance. You will analyze complex financial data and metrics to identify critical trends, insights, and opportunities for growth and cost efficiency.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and modeling to support strategic planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Develop, maintain, and refine financial models, projections, forecasts, and scenarios to evaluate potential business decisions and their financial impact.

• Prepare comprehensive financial reports for management, investors, and other stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.

• Analyze financial statements, budgets, accounting records, and other financial data to identify key metrics, performance indicators, and areas for improvement.

• Provide actionable recommendations and insights to executive leadership, department heads, and key stakeholders.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial data accuracy and to evaluate new programs, investments, and strategies.

• Manage financial risk by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential threats to financial health.

• Stay abreast of financial reporting standards, regulations, industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovations.

• Monitor financial performance against goals and provide reports on variances, optimization recommendations, and proposals for corrective action.

• Prepare and present clear, compelling financial reports and visualizations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field from an accredited university.

• 6-10 years of financial analyst experience, preferably in a senior role, with a track record of improving financial performance.

• Expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and effective report and presentation creation.

• Knowledgeable in accounting principles, financial management, capital markets, and business strategy.

• Proven ability to make impactful financial recommendations and drive strategic changes.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a talent for influencing stakeholders.

• Advanced proficiency in tools like Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Tableau, and ERP systems.

• Optional certifications in finance, accounting, or data analysis demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and excellence.

• Preferred experience in tech, but not required.
