As the Product Director for our mobile app, you will be at the forefront of our mobile product strategy and execution. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive innovation and ensure our mobile app delivers exceptional value to our users. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, overseeing the development process, and ensuring that our mobile products align with the company’s overall business objectives.
Join Our Team and Shape the Future of Finance!
Our app is already making waves with a 4.9 rating on the App Store and 4.7 on Google Play. Currently, it serves as a robust servicing app, but we’re on a mission to transform it into an all-in-one finance solution. With the launch of our Current Account product on the horizon, we’re expecting a surge in user engagement.
We’re looking for a Product Director to lead our dynamic team and help us achieve our vision. Here’s a glimpse of our squads within the Mobile tribe:
App Experience Team: This team is the creative force behind our app’s design, information architecture, and user engagement journey. They ensure our app is intuitive, engaging, and delightful to use.
Platform Team: This team is the backbone of our app’s resilience and security. They are responsible for maintaining a secure platform and ensuring high availability with minimal crash rates.
Open Banking Team: Focused on facilitating connected account experiences, this team enables users to move money seamlessly between our app and external accounts, leveraging the power of Open Banking.
A day in the life...
- Set the strategic direction for the mobile app product in collaboration with the Chief Customer and Chief Technology Officer – starting from Zopa’s overall purpose and business objectives.
- Translate the strategy into well defined products, services and capabilities within the App roadmap
- Energise the app team to deliver the roadmap, managing relationships and interdependencies across the business and externally. In places this will mean challenging existing structures and ways of working to ensure that the App vision can be delivered
- Set a high bar for App product design – ensuring that the end result for the user is an engaging and intuitive one when benchmarked cross industry
- Work closely with Engineering leadership to ensure that the app platform is robust, technology choices are well thought through for the short and medium term and that change is delivered in a well managed and responsible way
- Use data and MI to monitor and improve App experience and performance over time and to ensure management visibility of these
- Manage risks and controls associated with the App in a way that is responsible and inline with Zopa’s risk appetite
- Build an App team which is able to deliver on the ambition for the product – ensuring the right shape of the team, right level of resilience, right individuals and the right level of coaching and support to be successful
- Contribute to the wider product community at Zopa to ensure that it continues to be a compelling place for talented people to build their product careers
About you...

- Strong strategic thinking – clear evidence of setting strategic direction and delivering on it to drive key outcomes
- Excellent delivery capability – the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a consistent ability to deliver on a challenging roadmap
- Product Mastery – the successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of how to design great App journeys and experiences – making them capable of leading and challenging the teams to get to a transformative outcome
- Excellent communication skills: Able to communicate clearly and concisely up and down the organisation in order to move forward the App agenda
- Highly numerate and analytical – used to using data to understand behaviours, generate insights and drive decision making around App roadmap and success criteria
