We're looking for a Fraud StrategyLead to join our mission to make money work better for millions of customers. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of protecting our customers and Zopa from fraud while ensuring we deliver the seamless, human experience we're known for.
You'll lead our fraud prevention strategy across our entire product ecosystem - from current accounts and loans to savings, credit cards, and car finance and via our Zopa mobile banking app and web. This is your chance to shape how a modern bank thinks about and tackles fraud in an increasingly digital world.
As our Fraud Strategy Lead, you'll be the architect of our fraud defence strategy, working directly with our Director of Fraud to keep our customers safe while enabling our business to grow boldly.

A day in the life:

  • Strategic Leadership - Design and deliver exceptional fraud prevention strategies that protect both our customers and Zopa, balancing security with the seamless experience our customers love
  • Build and maintain our fraud risk framework, ensuring we stay within fraud budget while supporting ambitious business growth
  • Act as Zopa's fraud subject matter expert, advising stakeholders on emerging trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices
  • Support the business in the roll out of new products/process
  • Cross-functional Impact - Partner with Product, Tech, Operations, and Risk teams across both First and Second Lines of Defence to embed fraud prevention and detection into everything we build
  • Transform fraud insights into actionable strategies, working with data to identify best in class fraud strategies and create enhanced controls
  • Champion industry collaboration, building and maintaining strong networks and partnerships to keep Zopa at the forefront of fraud prevention
  • Hands-on Delivery - Deep dive into fraud performance across all products, identifying risks and opportunities for enhancement
  • Conduct root cause analysis to uncover emerging threats and drive continuous improvement
  • Develop roadmaps for control enhancements and oversee their delivery
  • Ensure our fraud strategies and controls meet current and future regulatory requirements; including the accurate submission of regulatory reporting

About you:

  • You're a fraud prevention expert who thrives on solving complex problems and turning challenges into opportunities. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, and you're energised by working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proven track record of defining and delivering fraud prevention strategies across first party fraud, third party fraud, and Authorised Pushed Payment fraud and Account Takeover
  • Experience working in financial services or consultancy, with deep expertise in fraud detection and prevention
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to generate insights from data and communicate them to diverse audiences
  • Excellence in stakeholder management - you can navigate competing priorities and manage expectations under pressure
  • Love working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems
  • Can translate technical fraud concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences
  • Have experience optimising operational processes to enhance fraud frameworks
  • Are passionate about protecting customers while enabling great experiences

Towards the end of 2025 Zopa will be relocating to a brand-new headquarters at 20 Water Street in Canary Wharf. The 44,000 square foot workspace will foster collaboration and inspire creativity for our 900 employees amidst our 2025 growth blitz.

We value face-to-face collaboration and a good work-life balance. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week.
