Our Story
Hello there. We’re Zopa.
We started our journey back in 2005, building the first ever peer-to-peer lending company. Fast forward to 2020 and we launched Zopa Bank. A bank that listens to what our customers don’t like about finance and does the opposite. We’re redefining what it feels like to work in finance. Our vision for a new era of banking puts people front and centre — we’ve built a business that empowers everyone to aim high, every day, to move finance forward. Find out more about our fantastic offerings at Zopa.com!
We’re incredibly proud of our achievements and none of it would be possible without the amazing team here. It’s not just industry awards we’re winning, we’ve also been named in the top three UK’s Most Loved Workplaces.
If you embrace unconventional challenges, are unafraid to think differently and are driven to make an outsized impact, you’ll thrive here at Zopa, so join us, and make it count. Want to see us in action? Follow us on Instagram @zopalife
We're looking for a Treasury Associate Analyst to join our small yet experienced Treasury team where you will get first-hand experience of everything a bank Treasury deals with, and start making a meaningful contribution straight away. You'll be involved in all aspects of work, including cash flow management, interest rate risk, liquidity management, funding and FTP. Exposure to all aspects of Treasury activities will enable you to quickly broaden your knowledge, helping you to develop your career at Zopa.

A day in the life:

  • Production and circulation of daily MI covering Treasury’s activities, ensuring all reporting is timely and accurate, including the monthly ALCO pack including preparation of monthly MI.
  • Liaise with colleagues across the Bank to coordinate MI and papers.
  • Attend ALCO meetings, taking minutes and updating action logs as required.
  • Proactively monitor cash balances and move cash in a timely manner to avoid any operational impacts.
  • Prepare accurate short-term cashflow forecasts to provide visibility over the Bank’s liquidity position.
  • Work with Treasury Managers to support their work, including liquidity management (including monthly reporting), IRRBB, FTP reporting, HQLA activity (including TMS management) and BoE / other wholesale funding.
  • Ongoing daily management of hedge portfolio, including agreeing margin calls as required.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly reports on loan sales activities.
  • Awareness and understanding of relevant policies and standards governing Treasury activities.
  • Assist in managing ongoing compliance requirements, including the update of the RCSAs.
  • Enhance use of Finance/Treasury systems including SQL.
  • Work collaboratively with internal groups including Accounting, FP&A, Regulatory Reporting, Risk & Compliance, IT, Operations and Legal

About you:

  • The ability to communicate effectively.
  • Confident in using appropriate software tools and programs (Excel, ALMIS, SQL, Tableau and Anaplan) and are willing to learn new ones as required including using AI.
  • You’re able to work well with cross functional teams and external partners
  • You have strong quantitative skills, problem-solving, and must be detail-oriented
  • A strong interest in Fintech and broader financial services industry
  • You’re a fast learner – keen to develop your knowledge and be exposed to new concepts, processes and systems
  • Able to organise and analyse statistical data and prepare comprehensive reports
  • You’ll ideally have experience in treasury, most likely in a UK retail Bank or Building Society but this isn't essential
