Senior Commercial Product Manager, Motor Finance
Accounting & Finance, Product
London, UK
The Team
Automotive is one of Zopa’s biggest growth opportunities, with ambitious plans to more than double originations over the next four to five years.
As our Senior Commercial Product Manager, you’ll take on a broad remit spanning the full Automotive journey, from decisioning and pricing to the experiences we build for customers, dealers and brokers. Working across Product, Sales, Credit Risk, Technology and Operations, you’ll turn big commercial opportunities into meaningful change: smarter lending decisions, stronger partner propositions and simpler, faster journeys.
You’ll have real ownership and influence over the next chapter of Motor Finance at Zopa. Bringing together commercial insight, data, and customer and partner needs, you’ll set the product direction and build a roadmap that delivers measurable results. It’s an opportunity to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, balancing growth, margin and risk while building a business that works brilliantly for our customers and partners.
A day in the life
Shape the future of Motor Finance at Zopa, owning the product roadmap and making the commercial calls that balance growth, margin, credit losses and great customer outcomes.
Help power our next phase of growth, working with Sales and Credit Risk to shape dealer strategy, rate cards and lending decisions that strengthen our competitive position.
Get closer to our partners, spending time with dealers, brokers and intermediaries to uncover what matters most and build products and experiences they want to use.
Turn data into action, digging into performance, testing ideas and uncovering opportunities to grow the business and solve meaningful problems.
Win support for bold ideas, building compelling commercial cases that make the opportunity, economics and trade-offs clear to senior stakeholders.
Take ideas through to launch, partnering with Technology to define problems, set priorities and deliver changes with measurable impact.
Transform how Motor Finance works, rethinking operational journeys to remove manual effort, reduce costs and make life easier for customers, partners and colleagues.
Spot our next competitive advantage, turning shifts in customer behaviour, technology, regulation and the market into opportunities for Zopa.
Make ambitious things happen, bringing teams together around a clear direction and building the momentum to turn strategy into results.
About you
You’ve made a measurable commercial impact, owning meaningful outcomes in a product, lending or regulated environment and understanding the levers that drive performance.
You combine commercial ambition with sound judgement, making decisions that balance growth, profitability, cost, risk and customer outcomes.
You’re curious enough to dig deeper, getting hands-on with data, doing your own analysis and turning evidence into clear decisions.
You know how to make change happen, taking ideas through to delivery alongside cross-functional engineering teams and seeing them through to impact.
You can make the tough calls, focusing time and investment on the opportunities that matter most when there’s more to do than capacity allows.
You bring clarity to ambiguity, uncovering the real problem, shaping a way forward and building momentum without waiting for a perfect brief.
You bring people with you, influencing senior stakeholders, working through competing priorities and getting into the detail to move things forward.
You make complex ideas compelling, communicating simply and writing business cases that help senior leaders make confident investment decisions.
You get out and listen, spending time with customers, partners or users and using what you learn to challenge assumptions and shape better products.
You build with good judgement, understanding the demands of a regulated environment and involving Risk, Compliance and Legal early enough to shape strong solutions.
Added bonus:
You’ve built products that connect businesses and customers, whether through B2B, B2B2C, marketplaces or partner-led models.
You’ve helped a business scale, growing a product or commercial proposition and navigating the challenges that come with greater volume and complexity.
You can explore the data yourself, using SQL or another language to investigate questions and uncover opportunities independently.
You know the motor finance landscape, with experience across dealer or broker distribution, vehicle valuations, HP or PCP.
You’ve shaped the mechanics behind commercial performance, influencing risk-based pricing, rate cards, commissions or similar levers.
You’ve made partnerships work, collaborating with third-party providers or strategic partners to deliver better outcomes.
You enjoy helping others grow, with experience coaching, developing or managing a more junior Product Manager.
You’re familiar with tools that support delivery and insight, including Jira, Confluence and self-serve BI platforms.
At Zopa we value flexible ways of working.
We value face-to-face collaboration and a good work-life balance. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week.
You'll also have the option of working from abroad for up to 120 days a year!* But no matter where you are, we’ll make sure you’ve got everything you need to thrive, both in your work and home life, from day one.

Diversity Statement
Zopa is proud to offer a workplace free from discrimination. Diversity of experience, perspectives, and backgrounds leads to better products for our customers and a unique company culture for our people. We are made up of nearly 50 nationalities, have a DE&I forum made up of Zopians wanting to make a difference and we are proud of our culture where everyone can bring their full self to work. Our approach to DE&I is reflected in our hiring process so please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments.
Our approach to AI in interviews
At Zopa, AI isn't something we're testing out — it's part of how we work every day. As a proud partner of Jobs 2030, we're committed to building AI fluency across our workforce, and we expect Zopians to use AI as part of how they do their jobs.
Because of that, we want to be transparent about how we think about AI use during our hiring process.
Behavioural and competency-based interviews: please don't use AI. These conversations are designed to understand you — your experiences, your judgment, and how you've approached real situations. An AI-generated answer can't tell us that. What it can do is get in the way of us finding out whether we're the right fit for each other.
Technical interviews: it depends on the role. Some technical stages actively welcome AI use, others don't. Your Talent Partner will let you know what's expected at each stage. Where AI is part of the assessment, we'll be interested not just in the outcome, but in how you used it – the tools you chose, your reasoning, and the decisions you made along the way.
