Oper currently has offices in Zürich, Switzerland, and Antwerp, Belgium.

To support our current growth in Europe, we are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team. The expected start date is July 1st.

Tasks

**What you will do
**
As the first in-house accountant at Oper, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimising our financial operations. Reporting directly to our VP of Finance, you will take on the following responsibilities:

  • Restructure and streamline accounting processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with external accountants to maintain compliance with local GAAP (BE, CH, UK) and regulatory standards.
  • Manage accounts receivable/payable and enhance our expense management system (Spendesk).
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and reliability.
  • Lead payroll processes and oversee year-end financial statement preparation (IFRS).
  • Drive process automation and bring key accounting functions in-house to align with strategic goals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate finance requirements and improve system functionalities.

Requirements

What you will bring

  • You have a minimum of 3 years experience in accounting in agile, fast-paced environment (start-up, Big Four…). You comfortably navigate in multi-entity accounting structures.
  • You are familiar with the Belgian accounting standards, Swiss and UK are a plus.
  • You work detail-oriented and organized and are not afraid to handle multiple competing priorities at the same time. You can easily manage internal and external communication with various stakeholders in parallel.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset, and flexibility toward dynamic change.
  • Fluency in English, and German or Dutch, any other language is a plus.
